Chris Hondros in New York
Beautiful photos of NYC. But, be sure to read the comment from Owen Wright:
“Chris lived upstairs from me in Brooklyn for a number of years. Sometimes he would purge his collection of photos and I would pull them from the trash. He always had an excuse for tossing them —the color was off, or the printing was bad— and I always had an excuse for keeping them. They were stunning, of course. Though I knew he must have faced so many horrors over the years on assignment, he never let on when we got together for a drink when he was back in town. Last December, when I opened my wine store around the corner from our building, he was the first customer, complimenting me in his genuine way at my accomplishment. And in a method that only Chris could do it, he paid me for his purchase with a crisp stack Afghani dollars. I will miss you greatly, dear friend.”
